Review: The Red by Tiffany Reisz

***** 5 STARS*****

This stand alone book was totally unique. Never have I ever read anything quite like it.

I'd definitely have to agree with the synopsis when it describes it as an erotic fantasy, because what this book did was transport me to a place that I can only describe as perhaps an adult version of C.S Lewis's, Chronicles of Narnia, but I use that comparison very loosely indeed.

This book references several pieces of erotic artwork, which when I Googled gave me a much clearer picture of certain scenes and definitely aided my visual interpretations.

Mona is given a very tempting offer from Malcolm. For one year she must submit to him and I don't just mean the BDSM type of submission.

Malcolm was who intrigued me the most and despite my first impression of him was a mysterious, handsome stranger, it eventually became obvious he was so much more than that. All I would say is, for those who have read the authors Original Sinners series, is that Malcolm has the suave sophistication of Kingsley and the mystery and intrigue of Søren.

I wouldn't say this is your typical love story and anyone who has read anything by Tiffany Reisz will know that she doesn't write your typical boy meets girl, boy and girl fall in love and live happily ever after and that makes her books so refreshing.

I absolutely loved this book. It explored my imagination and the eroticism of it all was what I can only describe as hauntingly beautiful and definitely a book I would recommend to someone wanting to read something that bit different from the norm.

Mona Lisa St. James made a deathbed promise that she would do anything to save her mother's art gallery. Unfortunately, not only is The Red painted red, but it's in the red. She soon realizes she has no choice but to sell it.

Just as she realizes she has no choice but to sell it, a mysterious man comes in after closing time and makes her an offer: He will save The Red if she agrees to submit to him for the period of one year.

The man is handsome, English, and terribly tempting...but surely her mother didn't mean for Mona to sell herself to a stranger. Then again, she did promise to do anything to save The Red...

The Red is a standalone novel of erotic fantasy from Tiffany Reisz, international bestselling author of The Bourbon Thief and the Original Sinners series.
