99p/c Pre-Order Sale from R.S. Grey

The Summer Games by R.S. Grey releases on May 2nd and you can pre-order it for only 99 pennies!

From the USA TODAY Bestselling author of Scoring Wilder, comes a sexy new standalone novel.
As an Olympic rookie, Andie Foster has spent far more time in her cleats than between the sheets. For 21 years, her Friday nights have consisted of blocking shots rather than taking them. But now that she's landed in Rio, she's ready to see for herself if the rumors about the Olympic Village are true:
The athletes are all sex-crazed maniacs...  The committee passes out condoms like candy...  The games continue long after the medals have been handed out...  As Andie walks the line between rumor and reality, she's forced into the path of Frederick Archibald, a decorated Olympic swimmer and owner of a sexy British accent--too bad he's unavailable in a way that "it's complicated" doesn't even begin to explain.
In other words: off limits.
It doesn't matter that he has abs that could bring peace to the Middle East and a smile that makes even the Queen blush; Andie fully intends on keeping her focus on the soccer field. But the Village is small. Suffocating. Everywhere Andie goes, Freddie happens to be there--shirtless, wet from the pool, and determined to show her a whole new meaning of the phrase "international affairs".

Review: Magnificent Bastard by Lili Valente

****4 Stars****
I love the idea of two people who have never met that eventually meet and Bam! Instant attraction with the added bonus that they can't really do anything about that attraction as it would create all kinds of problems. It creates a whole heap of sexual tension.
Penny has been Sebastian, AKA Bash's virtual assistant for a while. The two only ever communicating via Text and Email. Penny knows everything about Bash and for someone who has closed off his heart to women, she is his closest friend.
I absolutely loved the texts and emails between them and whilst this is nothing new, it really made this book fun and helped me as a reader understand certain things a lot more, which I did find particularly clever.
Ultimately Penny requires Bash's help with a small issue from her past and this creates all kinds of problems for the two and Bash's carefully followed rules are at risk of being broken.
For me this book was seriously hot, until a certain area of Penny's anatomy was described in quite a lot of detail and quite frankly I found that to be a bit off-putting. This is likely a very personal issue for me and perhaps other readers won't find this to be a problem.
Maybe if the author had toned down the descriptions a little this would have made this book so much more enjoyable for me and yes it was a little predictable in places, but overall I found this to be a pretty good little read.

Windy is a mystery and Moth seems to think she holds all the answers to his brothers death so tries to seduce her, but Windy doesn't give in to his advances easily, she's a distraction and Moth is maybe getting in to deep can he separate desire from work and find out what secrets she holds?
Ahhhhhhh Moth is my ultimate alpha hero and he can come save me any time he wants! I loved this book and couldn't put it down. The characters are easy to love and connect with and their story is a whirlwind of ups and down's. The book is action packed with hot scenes and angst. The story flows well and It's one of those books that keeps you guessing, but you will never get it so I wouldn't try. My only slight little gripe was I felt the ending was a bit of a rushed scenario and I would have liked to have seen more of a drawn out epilogue but overall I loved it.

Review: Dirty Bastard (Grim Bastards MC #1) by Emily Minton & Shelley Springfield

****4 Stars****
I've got to admit that it took me a while to get into this book.
I found it a bit slow to start off with and a little choppy. It just didn't flow very smoothly for me. However, as the book progressed it got better and better.
I loved Boz right from the start and his character is well developed throughout the book. He's a typical MC Pres and despite his initial actions, you can't help but want him to come out on top. There's passion and aggravation, that'll keep you interested.
Trix is a great character too. Feisty and strong, she knows what she wants but doesn't think it's obtainable.
Brew is a great sub-character and I hope he gets his own story, as it's sure to be a good one.
The book is well edited and written. Although the start was slow for me and didn't come into its own until about half way through, it is still well worth reading.

Review: SEAL for Her Protection (SEALs of Coronado #1) by Paige Tyler

****4 Stars****
Chase Ward is a hot alpha navy seal who rescues journalist Haley Garner from a terrorist organisation in Africa. After Haley lands back on home soil she has a really hard time coming to terms with her gruelling kidnapping experience. 3 months later Haley bumps into Chase and she can never forget the eyes of the man who rescued her in fact it's all she's thought about since being rescued. Chase has pretty much felt the same so they end up going on a date together but Haley can't seem to stay away from dangerous situations so can Chase rescue her this time?
Usually I'm not really into the whole uniformed alpha kind of books, however the author has done such a good job with this that I am actually quite impressed because I liked it. The writing flows along nicely and the plot has been executed and researched thoroughly. A nice quick and much enjoyed read!

Review: A Sensible Woman by Fiona Cameron

****4 Stars****
What attracted me to this book was the fact that it was set in rural Scotland. So many books in the romance genre are set in the US these days, that a change of scenery was a definite selling point for me.
Going into the book, I also noticed another major difference compared to the books I normally would read and that was the main female character in the book was your average 45 year old and not the young, hot bombshells I have become accustomed to and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised.
If I had to describe the feel of this book, I would say it definitely had a Midsomer Murders vibe to it (UK readers will hopefully know what I mean when I say this).
Fergus, a private investigator, is the main love interest in this book, but I'll be honest, I felt the love story dragged for me. It was all a little too polite and civilised for my taste. I'd even go so far as to use the terminology 'hoity toity'.
The sex scenes were implied and generally the only way you knew they had happened was one of the characters would briefly recall the act. This wasn't actually a problem for me, but pair that with a relatively mundane journey towards happy ever after, I just wanted more.
I did find that the mystery element of the book to be quite enjoyable indeed and I wouldn't have been disappointed at all had this storyline made up the bulk of the book.
I'm not sure how well this book would translate to anyone outside the UK as there did appear to be a lot of terminology that I'm not entirely sure would mean anything to someone not familiar with the UK. All in all though i have to say this wasn't a bad book to read at all, especially if you like something with a lot less drama in the romance department and your characters in the 40+ category.

Review: Dirty (Dive Bar #1) by Kylie Scott

*****4.5 Stars*****
I couldn't wait to get my hands on Dirty by Kylie Scott as I have read all of her Stage Dive series.
Vaughn Hewson has toured with Stage Dive with his former band but now the band is no longer together so he heads home and it's been a while. Being in his home town brings out painful memories that he would rather leave in the past.
Enter Lydia, omg I felt so sorry for Lydia, she found out her fiancé was having an affair on her wedding day!!! so she runs and runs until she breaks into a house, Vaughn's house and that's where he finds her in his bath tub.
Kylie Scott has a knack of developing real women characters that you can't help admire and love. Lydia and Vaughn's relationship was very real as was the chemistry between the two. The friendship that developed in spite of the instant chemistry and flirting was nice and there was plenty of laugh out loud moments too. Will Vaughn and Lydia have the ending they both deserve?

Review: Lust is the Thorn by Jen McLaughlin

*****4.5 Stars*****

This is the second book that I've read by the author and I absolutely loved it! It is filled with angst, forbidden love, tragic pasts, and secrets. I could not put this book down! It seems like the author has a thing for the whole forbidden love theme and she does it very well!
In the beginning, we meet Thorn McKinney who is getting ready to take his vows to become a priest. A tragic past sends him running to prayer and seminary school to help him get past it. Only their is something holding him back: his best friend's little sister, Rose. He promised her brother that he would always keep her safe and when danger comes lurking, he does just that. When she hits rock bottom, he is there for her, but the passion ignites between the two. It is strictly forbidden but their is no denying the spark between these two. Will he choose his rightful path to priesthood that he has been working towards his whole adulthood or the girl who is his only family and also the one he loves? You'll have to read to find out.
I absolutely loved this book, but at times Rose drove me nuts! I get that she didn't have the best childhood but whenever Thorn tried to help her and buy her stuff, she argued every step of the way. When the man you love wants to help you, don't argue, just go with it!
I loved Thorn and Rose and cannot wait to see what Jen McLaughlin has in store for us next.

Review: Dirtiest Secret (S.I.N. #1) by J. Kenner

****3.5 Stars****

For me this book, started out so well. Just the opening to a book that I like, but after the prologue and the first couple of chapters, it seemed to lose momentum.
This book starts out 17 years ago when Dallas and Jane were abducted and the details of this kidnapping and what they both had to endure is explained throughout.
The character details, especially for the secondary characters, were a little too brief at times and it was often hard to understand who was who and how they fit into the story. The family trees at first confused me, although that did eventually become clear.
Individually, I liked the main characters, Dallas Sykes and Jane Martin, but together some may find their coupling a little to much to handle. Dallas came across as a total player, which is pretty much the point to the book and Jane appeared to be the more stable of the two.
There is a definite pushing of boundaries with this book, but I for the most part, was able to look past that.
As for the sex scenes, there seemed to be more masturbation than sex itself and for me it often distracted me from the couples chemistry. There is a sort of reason why this is the case, but I would have liked a little more from the sex scenes if I'm honest, especially having read and loving the Stark Trilogy.
On the whole, I feel there's so much more to this story, but my concern is that, by the next book, I will have forgotten many of the important details especially some of the characters.
For me, J Kenner had the added pressure of giving us a couple to come close to the dynamics of Nikki Fairchild and Damien Stark and sadly I just didn't think this book achieved that, but still there were some good moments in this book and I really do hope things pick up in the next book.
Reviewed by Louise Dale

It was wrong for us to be together, but it was even harder to be apart.
The memory of Dallas Sykes burns inside of me.

Everyone knows him as a notorious playboy, a man for whom women and money are no object. But to me, he’s still the one man I desperately crave—yet the one I can never have.

Dallas knows me better than anyone else. We bear the same scars, the same darkness in our past. I thought I could move on by staying away, but now that we’re drawn together once more, I can’t fight the force of our attraction or the temptation to make him mine.

We’ve tried to maintain control, not letting ourselves give in to desire. And for so long we’ve told ourselves no—but now it’s finally time to say yes.
