Review: The Sexy One by Lauren Blakely

*****5 Stars*****

I thought I was growing tired of the contemporary romance genre and really felt that a change was in order to refresh my love of reading, then along comes this little beauty that actually shown me that if a book is good, it's just good regardless of the genre.
Here we have the old clichè, Single dad falls for his child's nanny and whilst this in itself isn't exactly a new thing, what amazed me was the depth and quality of the characters.
Once again this book is being marketed as a stand alone, but the inclusion of certain previous characters means there is a link and it is advisable that they be read in order. I love the mix of old and new characters but also the feel that this is a stand alone.
Simon Travers, hot, single, doting dad just made me swoon from the very first moment I encountered him, so it wasn't exactly hard to see what Abby saw in him. I adored the way he was with his daughter.
Abby Becker was such a brilliant character for me. She was the perfect nanny without actually being all sweetness like Mary Poppins and at the same time sexy enough to make Simon stop and take notice.
I simply found this book to be superbly written and just effortless to read. I'd have to say that it was probably Lauren Blakely's best work to date.

From NYT Bestselling author Lauren Blakely comes a sexy new standalone romance…

Let me count the ways why falling into forbidden love is not my wisest move…
1. She works with me every single day.
Did I mention she's gorgeous, sweet, kind and smart?
2. She works in my home.
Playing with my five-year-old daughter. Teaching my little girl. Cooking for my princess. Which means…
3. She's the nanny.
And that makes her completely off-limits…But it doesn’t stop me from wanting her. All of her.

The other nannies in this city don't call him the Sexy One for nothing. My boss, the amazingly wonderful single father to the girl I take care of every day is ridiculously hot, like movie star levels with those arms, and those eyes, and that body. Not to mention, the way he dotes on his little girl melts me all over. But what really makes my knees weak are the times when his gaze lingers on me. In secret. When no one else is around.

I can't risk my job for a chance at something more…can I? But I don’t know how to resist him much longer either…
