Review: Seduction in Session (The Perfect Gentlemen #2) by Shayla Black & Lexi Blake

*****5 Stars*****

This is Connor's story, the most mysterious of the group of six friends. Now if you haven't read the first book in the series, Scandal Never Sleeps, then I'd advise you not to continue reading this review, it may contain some tiny spoilers, nothing drastic to the main plot but as this is a series there is a long running storyline throughout so I wouldn't advise the books to be read as standalones. To appreciate the full story I'd say you certainly need to start with book one.
Now that warning is out of the way let's talk about Connor, well as you know from the end of book one he'd been chatting online to the woman who runs the Capitol Scandals tabloid blog, attempting to ingratiate himself in her life somehow to find out what she knows and to see how much of a threat she is to Zack's presidency. Connor, the CIA agent who is not the paper-pushing analysist he'd have us believe he is, is a stone cold alpha male. He's used to getting what he wants and he's ruthless when it comes to attaining his goals. He lives on the dark side and he doesn't have attachments, those would be weaknesses.
Enter Lana, the hippie vegan investigative reporter who is the mystery owner of the Capitol Scandals blog. When Connor places himself in her life under the guise of a bodyguard he quickly learns that she's not what he first thought and the cute little pixie has the potential to bring the big bad wolf to his knees.
In this second installment the mystery continues and we start to get some answers, but just when you think you have an inkling of what is going on these authors throw more curveballs your way that leave you with even more questions and a sense that this mystery goes far deeper than we ever could have guessed and The Perfect Gentlemen are more connected personally to it than it initially seemed.
I'm absolutely loving this series of unputdownable reads and I'm itching to get my hands on the third book, which is to be Dax's story. I'm enjoying how the story is laid out, that each book concentrates mainly on one member of the Perfect Gentlemen but the main story is running throughout, it's keeping me guessing and coming up with all sorts of theories and ideas and has me desperate to find out the truth. I'm becoming very attached to these characters and really invested in them. I'm so looking forward to book three in this series, not just to solve a bit more of the mystery but I'm also looking forward to getting a closer look at Dax. On the outside he seems like a happy go lucky guy, but I think he's hiding some heartbreak behind that facade.
