Review: Forgotten Promises by Jessica Lemmon

****4 Stars****

This is a Dark story of horrendous circumstances that can tear families apart. It will consume you from the beginning so much so that if you’re like me you won’t put it down until you reach the very last word.
Morgan Young has just turned 21. She is on her way to meet her perfect boyfriend that she envisions spending her life with. The event of the next hour changes her path in life forever and shows her how callous people can actually be. Morgan finds out her perfect man isn’t actually perfect and everything was a lie, so she storms off on her own which leads to events of the unexpected.
This is where we meet Tucker. Fresh out of prison and a man on a mission to bring down one of the people in your life you’re supposed to be able to trust. Tucker already knew Morgan from when they went to school together but he now needs her help in a major way to deal with his horrendous past so he does what he needs to do to get Morgan to listen to him.
I really liked this story it made my eyes water in a couple of places. The author did a good job of switching POV’s to let the reader know what was going through Morgan and Tuckers heads. The only thing is I thought there was a little something missing in regards to detail of Tuckers life growing up before it all started and more on where his mum was during the time things weren’t so great etc. Overall though I definitely recommend if your not scared of dark triggers. I will be looking at more of this authors work.

Morgan Young had a perfect upbringing, and now she’s got a perfect boyfriend and a perfect future—until her twenty-first birthday changes everything. First Morgan finds out, in the most painful way possible, that her relationship is a sham. But that’s nothing compared to the nightmare about to unfold.

It’s too late for Tucker Noscalo. A brutal childhood left him with a bad reputation and a criminal record. Fresh out of jail, Tucker has a score to settle with Baybrook’s crooked chief of police—his own father. Nobody will believe Tucker’s explosive accusations without proof and a good lawyer, neither of which he has on his side. Until he sees someone he used to know, someone who just so happens to be the daughter of the best lawyer in the county.

He needs Morgan to convince her father of the ugly truth. But first he has to convince her, and he’ll do whatever it takes to get her to listen. Confronted by the story of Tucker’s dark past, Morgan feels utterly compelled to help him. And as their connection grows into a fierce bond fueled by raw passion, Morgan finds herself falling for the wrong guy—but never has the promise of love felt so right.
