Review: Hundreds (Dollars #3) by Pepper Winters

*****5 Stars*****

In Pennies, book #1, the author created such a tangible atmosphere of annihilation with the barest of details. You were almost forced to find in your imagination the devastation that was inflicted. That, was your introduction to this mangled, tortured tale.

Dollars, book #2, delves into the complex relationships in this series. The push and pull between the characters, their demons and each other. We get to know Elder and Pim a little more and a fragment of light shines on the darkness the encapsulates this series.

Hundreds is the third book and I've been anxiously waiting for it. The air is heavy with things left unspoken, new deals brokered and tentative trust extended.
It's difficult to review a book like this without giving something crucial away. It has such a psychological twist, that a simple look speaks volumes.

Pepper Winters' manages to give you everything you crave in a book, yet yearn for more at the same time. She's a master of giving just enough but yet again has left us hanging. There's a stone in the pit of my stomach and only Thousands, book #4, can ease the weight.

I can't recommend this book (and series) enough. My favourite Pepper Winters' series so far - and that's saying something! 5 Stars!

“I'm done hurting her. She's been hurt enough. It's time I set her free...”

Once upon a time, I wished to go home and forget.
Now, I’m strong and ready to fight.
Seduced and claimed, Elder no longer just demands my voice, he commands me to be a thief like him.
I refuse.
But he offers me things I shouldn’t want, favours I should run from.
In return for his protection, I’m ordered to steal enough pennies and dollars to buy back my freedom.
Only, we both aren’t prepared for how he changes me, evolves me.
It’s my turn to learn about him.
It’s his wish to teach me how to be normal.
Until something goes wrong.
And our life together comes to an end.
