Wow, this is a powerful and very dark book. It's my first by Keri, but I promise it won't be my last. This woman holds nothing back. This book is brutal, and bloody. It is not for the squeamish, but if you have the strength to tough it out, I promise it will be well worth it.
It's a pretty basic revenge plot. Nick Ryder's wife and child were brutally murdered, and Nick was left for dead. But he didn't die. He survived, and now he's out for revenge against everyone who had anything to do with the death of his family. Especially, the man who ordered the killing, the corrupt Mayor of Detroit, one Michael Culling.
To that end, he kidnaps the Mayor's beautiful wife, Aubree Culling, but things are not as they seem. It turns out that Aubree is as much of a victim of the Mayor as Nick himself. Aubree views her kidnapping as a godsend. And she views Nick as her dark savior. But Nick can let nothing stand in the way of his vengeance, including Aubree.
The sex in this book is plentiful, and hotter than asphalt in July, but it's the violence that will probably stand out for you. Nick is not afraid to do what is necessary, and the author is not afraid to describe it in gory detail.
Will Nick and Aubree find redemption in each other, or will his vengeance destroy them both? You'll have to read it to find out, but I can tell you that this is a standalone novel, so you won't have to wait to finish the story.
