Review: Bellissimo Fortuna by Leigh Ann Lunsford

****4 Stars****

Gah! This book has me in a state of flux! I don't know how I feel about it.
I'll start with the basics.
Love conquers all... Or does it?
Callie has loved Bronson for as long as she can remember. Growing up was hard for her. A constant disappointment to her father since her birth, she seeks solace in the Agosto family home - the home of her best friend, Bianca, and her brother, Bronson.
When things come to ahead in Callie's household, Bronson steps up but their love for each other is thwarted at every turn.
Can they survive? Can their love conquer all?
I've got to admit that this book got off to a slow start for me but at the same time the story felt rushed. I'm not sure if that makes sense but it took me a while to get into it and where I wanted more information, more emotion, I found it rushed and slightly lacking. And although it's a good story, this detracted from the book for me...
....then BAM! The third part of the book (to me it felt like it was divided into three sections) it all kicks off! It dragged me in and pulled at my emotions and a book that I honestly wasn't that invested in, suddenly had me tearing up and swallowing against the lump that had lodged in my throat!
So a book that started so-so for me, ended up reeling me in. This is why I ALWAYS finish a book, I always persevere because you never know what's just around the corner.
All in all, an enjoyable, well written story - give it a try.

Blurb

Fierce, good-looking, loyal, son of a crime boss, Bronson Agosto is what every girl dreams of. Devoted to one girl and willing to do everything in his power to ensure her safety.

Beautiful, trusting, damaged, daughter of the underboss, Callie Locati has Bronson’s heart. She gave herself to him when they were kids and will sacrifice all she is to protect him.

Divided by the greed of one of the most trusted members of the familia, a father’s sins, and secrets kept, they struggle to overcome the obstacles life has thrown their way. Is their bond strong enough to conquer the forces trying to keep them apart? Is a father’s betrayal more than their love can survive? Will the family secrets ruin them or will their devotion stand the test of time?
