Review: The Aftermath (The Hurricane #2) by R.J. Prescott

****4 Stars****

The Aftermath is R.J. Prescotts 2nd novel in The Hurricane series. This time it’s told mostly from Cormac’s POV and we get a good insight into the mind of this sexy, hot and intriguing boxing genius! Following on from the first book Cormac's career is taking off but he is still struggling with his over protective ways with Emily. Frank her evil Stepfather is still behind bars awaiting trial but Emily still doesn’t feel safe as he’s still managing to torment her from inside in more ways than one. Danny get’s Cormac an agent whom in turn gets Cormac the fight of his life for the title of world heavyweight champion. However the fight will clash with the trial against Frank and all Cormac want’s to do is be by Emily’s side during it all. Emily won’t allow it though, she refuses to let him turn down the fight and asures Cormac that the boys will be right by her side while he trains. Things don’t go according to plan though and that’s where it all kicks off into a twisted and dark place. Can Cormac protect Emily or will he let her down again? To fight or not to fight?
I really like this authors imagination. The read was gritty and intense but I did find it a bit slow to begin with. I don’t think it was as good as the first book but it was still really enjoyable to read. It flows well and has all the hotness in all the right places. I urge anyone who hasn’t read this series to start now as you won’t be disappointed.
