Review: Below Deck by Tara Sivec

*****4.5 Stars*****

Tara Sivec is a master of Romantic Comedies and in her newest release, Below Deck, she introduces two new characters you will fall in love with while laughing out loud at their amusing dialogue.

Declan has been dealing with rich people for entirely too long. He can't stand them and hates kissing their asses and catering to their whims at work. He suffers through though so he can make his dream of becoming the captain of his own yacht a reality.

Mackenzie is tired of people looking at her and making judgements. She knows people assume she is living the easy life and has no worries, but that couldn't be farther from the truth. She is struggling through a job she hates for her father and now is stuck at sea on a boat with her step-monsters. Luckily she has her best friend with her and some amazing eye candy thanks to Declan.

Mackenzie isn't one for vacation flings or one-night stands and Declan isn't one to get involved with one of the rich and superficial women he deals with at work. Just this once, both make an exception. Can what starts as a meaningless hookup turn into something real?

Sivec had me laughing out loud throughout this book. She has a knack for creating sarcastic and fun characters that are done to earth. I was rooting for Mackenzie from the moment I met her. I liked Declan too, but he definitely frustrated me at times! The secondary characters were also ridiculously fun - Sivec always creates the most lovable and entertaining secondary characters. It's been awhile since I kicked back with an easy to read romantic comedy and this hit the spot perfectly.

Declan McGillis can't stand rich people. But working as a deckhand on a luxury charter yacht, he also can't escape them. Declan has spent years kissing their ass and doing their bidding...whatever it takes to make his dreams come true, and nothing will get in his way of being the captain of his own yacht one day.

Mackenzie Armstrong knows what people think when they look at her. She knows from the outside looking in, it seems like her family has it all and doesn't have a care in the world. Things aren't always what they seem, and not only does Mackenzie have the weight of her family's struggles on her shoulders, she also needs to prove to Declan that she's not the spoiled princess he believes her to be.

Declan can't ignore the sparks of lust between them, even though Mackenzie is completely off limits and absolutely out of his league.

Mackenzie thinks a vacation fling is just what she needs to forget about the mess her life has become, and Declan is the perfect man for the job.

Will this be a quick romp in the water, or will it turn into something more when Mackenzie finally gets below Deck?
