I love this series and was really looking forward to Rod’s story, after his little tantrum in Tony’s book I really wanted to know what Rod’s issues were and these ladies did not disappoint. Stick Me Baby is an emotional rollercoaster as we ride every high and hit every come down with Rod, it was laugh out loud funny in parts and really tough reading in others.
I was expecting Rod’s story to reveal more of his past and his difficult childhood but I soon learned that Rod doesn’t like to face up to issues, he’d sooner hide in a haze of booze, drugs and loose women. So what we find is Rod running from dealing with his concerns that his friends are all settling down and as the oldest of the pack it seems he missed that bus along with the fact that his career in the porn industry in winding down too.
And Amber I wanted to rag her about violently, you know when your friend has a new beau and you know you are watching a train crash just waiting to happen that is how I felt about Rod & Amber but I held my judgement as Rod seemed to be in love and I just wanted to see him happy. Yes, that wreck happened and I wanted to kill her and just hug poor Rod, his spiral down was painful to read.
Poor Rod realises what he has in his friends when they step up for him when he hits his lowest point, the family that he needs. Yet Rod wants the happy ending his friends seem to be getting and so gives Amber another chance but is she really what he needs on his road to sobriety? It seemed Rod had to go through the final humiliation to realise which way was which and again the guys are there for him.
I loved the ending, it was just hilarious and I am again looking forward to the next book in this series.
