Review: Explicit Instruction (Explicit #1) by Scarlett Finn

*****5 Stars*****

Where do I start? This is one very hot sexy book. But more than that, it's also a very exciting story. Rarely have I read an erotic romance that had as many twists and turns, bad guys, abductions, life or death situations, than this book. If you want some excitement to go along with your romance, you definitely can't go wrong with this book.
Felicity Hughes, better known as Flick, is the estranged daughter of a very rich man, but Flick has walked away from all that. She wants nothing to do with her wealthy family, and all of their phoniness. But that decision has consequences.
One fateful night, her taxi breaks down, and she wanders off alone in an unfamiliar part of town. Despite being warned, she goes into a dive bar looking for a phone. Her life will never be the same. She is abducted, which turns out to be only the first of several abductions she will experience. The men who take her are rough men. Men who would not hesitate to kill a woman after they've had their fun with her.
But fortunately, one of these men, Rushe, appears to have a heart. He ends up protecting her against the others. Rushe may not be much better than the other guys, but it seems he at least has an honorable way around women.
Flick sees in him someone who can protect her. Someone she thinks she can trust, and someone she eventually begins to care for. Rushe, in spite of himself, starts to care for her too.
The characters in this book are simply excellent. Even the bad guys are well drawn. I can guarantee you will fall in love with Rushe, and with Flick. I can also guarantee you will gasp with shock and surprise at some of the things that happen in this book. And I can guarantee you definitely won't be bored.
Is this a dark romance? I suppose some people might call it that, but I'm not sure I would agree with them. Sure there are some dark moments, and certainly some adult themes, but at it's heart is a love story, one that is anything but dark.
This is the first book of a trilogy, but it reads like a standalone. There is no dangling cliffhanger at the end. However, I can't wait to read the next book, Explicit Detail, anyway. And as soon as I finish it, I'm going to start on the final book, Explicit Memory, both books are already available on Amazon.

'I wouldn't do that if I were you.'

Stranded and searching for a phone, Flick inadvertently walks into danger, and finds herself living in a nightmare. But an unexpected reprieve comes in the form of a stranger, a looming silhouette more terrifying than the evil that captured her. From him she learns that danger has an alias, Rushe. He is abrupt, crude, domineering...and her only hope for survival.
With freedom a distant memory, Flick is reluctantly drawn into the criminal plot. As she descends further, her entanglement with Rushe becomes deeper. The adventure she started by accident threatens them; but Flick knows it’s not only her life she is battling for, it’s her heart as well.

Warning: Contains explicit language and imagery.
