Reviews: Wrong (Wrong #1) and Wrath (Wrong #2) by LP Lovell & Stevie J. Cole

Ria is a British girl living in America. She's living her dream working a residency on her way to becoming a doctor and her boyfriend Euan is a soon-to-be surgeon at the same hospital she works at. He's the ideal guy, handsome with a good job and from a well to do family. Only, Euan is hiding a secret, he's a gambler and has run up a debt with the ruthless and lethal Jude Pearson. When Jude sends one of his henchmen to collect, Euan reveals his inner scumbag when he offers Ria up as collateral for a three day extension on his debt.
Jude is one hell of a character, he's terrifying but has a gentle side, he's the boss of an illegal gambling enterprise and will use extreme violence and gruesome methods to get people to pay what they owe, and yet he has some morals. He's a complete contradiction and doesn't that just attract our attention in a man! He's dominant and aggressive, but holy crap is he hot! I, like Ria, have questioned my sanity because of my infatuation with Jude.
Ria, A.K.A Tor (depending on which character is addressing her,) is a great character. She's a fighter and doesn't take crap lying down. She's feisty and gobby as hell, I love her, she's awesome! I don't think this story would have worked as well with a meek and shy heroine, but Ria can definitely hold her own with Jude!
I also liked the odd bit of humour that was thrown in, it was very dry and typically British, as helped by Ria who is hilariously sarcastic at times. My favourite scene...Ria drunkenly attempting to remove her top and she gets tangled in it, we've all been there!
Now be warned, this book ends on a cliff-hanger, but the good news is book 2, Wrath, is out now so not to worry! I'm moving straight on to Wrath, I just hope I can get through it with my sanity intact!
I definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys the dark and gritty reads.

Synopsis

Tor

My life was mapped out and planned to perfection. I knew exactly what I wanted and where I was going, until I was thrust into his world and ripped from mine. In the blink of an eye everything shattered, proving to be nothing more than a cheap illusion. Now I’m living in this twisted form of hell, where enemies and friends are one and the same. I thought I wanted perfection. Now I don’t know what I want - perhaps not even my own freedom.

Jude

I'm the definition of wrong. I'm violent, I'm greedy, and I stop at nothing to win. I'm a notorious bookie and in my game paying with your life is not just a figure of speech. You lose, I collect. I take whatever you have. She’s collateral for a debt, and if that debt's not paid someone will die. This should be just business, so why can’t I kill her?
Everything is not always as it seems.

Lust. Blood. Lies.

Nothing this wrong should feel so right.

HO-LY CRAP! Emotional overload!
So, I saw the warnings that this book should come with a free round of therapy sessions. "Pah!" I thought, "I can handle it." Well, I should have heeded those warnings!
There's some tough scenes to get through in this book, if you're easily offended by the gritty and the violent then you may find parts of this book difficult.
This book picks up right where book one left off, I'm not going to give away any spoilers but for those of you who have not read book one, Wrong, then you need to! Especially if you are considering reading this. Wrong definitely needs to be read first. If you have read book one then yes, you do get answers and this book is even better than the first, but it WILL wreck you!
Tor...what Tor went through in this book is unfathomable, terrible and just plain tragic. I think the authors did an amazing job with writing how certain things affected Tor and displaying her emotions. They made her character incredibly real and by this second instalment in the story I felt like I knew her, and I wanted to cry for her.
This two book series is an emotional rollercoaster, you may come out the other side emotionally drained, mind f*cked and rocking in the corner trying to figure out how you're going to get over this story, but you will be glad you took this journey with these characters.
I applaud these two authors for a job well done, fantastic writing and a brilliant story, I can't wait to check out their other books.

Synopsis

Tor
Jude Pearson could just as well kill me as kiss me most days. He was my captor, my living hell, and yet, he became my saviour, my heart. Stupid. He's heartless, conditioned to feel nothing, and so I ran... straight into the clutches of his enemy. Joe Campbell wants Jude to suffer, and I just became a pawn in a very dangerous game.

Joe has broken me in every way, everything that I once was stripped away, and in its place is festering hatred and a rage so cold I feel nothing else. I have one purpose. Revenge.

Jude
Love makes you weak; it makes you irrational. She was collateral, completely innocent when she was unwillingly dragged into my corrupt world. With the damage I'd already caused her, I couldn't let her love me, so I let her go, and now...he has her.

No matter where she is, she will always be mine. This man has taken every-fucking-thing from me, and he has the last thing that matters to me. I will kill him. Slowly. Joe Campbell better run because the devil is fucking coming for him.

Sometimes two wrongs can make a right.

Rage.

Hate.

Revenge.

Our Wrath binds us, but it may also break us.
