Review: Elicit (Decadence After Dark #5) by M. Never

*****5 Stars*****

Oh wow, I absolutely loved Jett and Skye's story!

If you've read the first 4 books in this series, you'll recognise lots of the characters and as this books overlaps with another in timeframe, the scene too.
If you haven't read the first four books, I urge you to, otherwise you'll be missing some information when it comes to this story.

We met Jett earlier in the series and just as he did then, he intrigued me. He's had a different upbringing but things are not always as they seem.
Skye has no idea how she's landed where she is but even though she's closed herself off, she knows things could be worse....so much worse.
This book is beautifully written. The relationship, not only between Jett and Skye but all the other characters in the book is palpable.

I enjoyed it so much that it made me want to re-read Kayne's story.

All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable book....you won't regret taking this journey with M Never.

Review: Bound to Submit (Blasphemy #1) by Laura Kaye

*****5 Stars*****

Having been a huge fan of Laura Kaye's Hard Ink series, I was practically giddy with excitement when I found out about her newest series taking place in an exclusive BDSM club and focusing on the twelve masters who frequent it. Bound to Submit is the first book in Kaye's new Blasphemy series and it gets the series off to an emotional and extremely well written start!
Kenna has come home form the Marines with both physical and emotional scars. She knows the only way to deal with her pain is through submission and she visits Blasphemy hoping to find a Dom that can help her find the freedom and safety only that submission will bring. Her only problem is she knows only one man can truly provide what she needs and he broke her heart years ago when he refused her submission. Stronger and more aware of the world, she is determined to convince him to take her on and is prepared to guard her heart, expecting nothing more than his Dominance this time around.
Griffin knows he messed up years ago when he turned Kenna away. She ran from her heartache and joined the Marines and he has never forgotten her. When she walks into his BDSM club years later he knows he hopes he can redeem himself and make the right choices this time. He's worried though that he will cause her more pain and her physical scars are proof she has already been through much more than she should have had to endure.
Bound to Submit is a beautifully written second chance romance. I loved watching Griffin and Kenna navigate their way through past regrets and mistakes to find a love that could heal them both. The BDSM scenes are well written and this story definitely had all of the feels as we navigate Griffin and Kenna's demons. This was a wonderful start to an intriguing new series and I am looking forward to watching as all of the masters in Blasphemy find their submissives.

Review: Sugar Free (Sugar Bowl #3) by Sawyer Bennett

***3 Stars***

This is the much anticipated conclusion to the Sugar Bowl trilogy. You must have read the first two books prior to picking up and reading Sugar Free. After being left with one hell of a cliffhanger at the end of Sugar Rush, I could not wait to dive into this one however this was my least favorite of the series. I had very high expectations after the first two books, but Sugar Free seemed to drag and I was bored for most of the book. The ending was predictable and made sense although it seemed very rushed. I have not read a Sawyer Bennett book yet that I haven't loved, but I had a really difficult time finishing this one, even going so far as skimming through it at times.
Beck and Sela's story starts off right where they left us at the end of book 2. They are forced to decide how to handle the latest matter JT has gotten them into. Their relationship is definitely tested in every way possible. I didn't really connect with Sela too much in this book and I was pissed at her for what she was putting Beck through. I felt more for Beck and his sister, Caroline, for what JT and their parents put them through. I can't really say much more without giving spoilers so I will just say that although the story dragged for me all the loose ends and questions that the first two books leave you with are tied up and answered in this book. This was just not the book for me but I still love Sawyer Bennett and cannot wait to see what she brings to us next.

Sela and Beck’s deliciously sinful tale of sex, lies, and vengeance reaches its explosive conclusion in the final chapter of Sawyer Bennett’s Sugar Bowl trilogy, which began with the novels Sugar Daddy and Sugar Rush.

For years Sela Halstead dreamed of revenge, but the quest for payback has been anything but sweet. Now, once again, she finds herself at the mercy of Jonathon Townsend, his hands crushing the very breath from her body. And even though she escapes with her life, Sela fears she may never recover. In desperate need of shelter and comfort, she runs to the one man she can trust. Beckett North has stood by Sela since the beginning. But can he handle the brutal truth?

Beck will do anything to protect what is his—and make no mistake, Sela belongs to him, heart and soul. The passion between them runs hot, even as their world begins to unravel. With the legacy of his ruthless business partner hanging in the balance, Beck stands to lose everything: his fortune, his family, his freedom. But each touch of Sela’s mouth on his skin, her nails down his back, makes it harder to let her go—and it might not even be his choice to make.

Review: Savage Mafia Prince (A Dangerous Royals Romance #3) by Annika Martin

*****4.5 Stars*****

This is the third and I assume final book of the series.....or is it?
For some reason I really got a sense that there's more to come, even though each book in this series focuses on one of the three Dragusha brothers.
Book 3, was probably my most anticipated of the entire series as we had always wondered what had become of Kiro and let me tell you, this book did not disappoint.
If I had to choose, I would say this was probably my favourite of the series so far and Kiro is definitely my choice if I had to pick one of the three brothers. He reminded me of a modern day Tarzan. And just when I thought I had the fictional alpha male sussed, along comes Kiro and shows us literally what an alpha male is really like, especially one as wild as he is.
Whilst we're on the subject of Tarzan, I felt that Ann was most definitely Kiro's, Jane. She just understood him from the very first moment she laid eyes on him. But she was certainly no damsel in distress. I loved her caring nature and how she just saw Kiro for what he really is....A man, albeit a really really hot one.
Now whilst I don't think this one was the hottest book out of the three, I do think that the story was incredible and so emotional.
Lazarus, got right on my nerves in this book. That guy is like a bad smell that just lingers no matter how many times you try to extinguish it. My hope going into this book was that he got his comeuppance. I'm pretty sure I had a scowl on my fave when reading his chapters.
My only worry is that this was really the final book and the last we get to encounter these guys, because I really do feel like there's so much more to be told. But only time will tell whether my worries are warranted or not. But still this was a fantastic book and definitely one readers who love a good Mafia story, especially of the Albanian American variety, should add to their list.

He’s the lost Dragusha brother, heir to a vast mafia empire—brilliant, violent, and utterly savage…and he’s been missing for years.

I'm supposed to be doing simple undercover research at the Fancher Institute for the Mentally Ill & Dangerous, but I can’t keep my mind off Patient 34. He’s startlingly young and gorgeous, but it’s not just that. He’s strapped way too tightly to that bed. And there’s no name or criminal history on his chart. What are these people hiding? My reporter’s instincts are screaming.

Here's the other thing: the staffers here believe he’s so sedated that there’s not a thought in his head, but I catch him watching me when nobody’s looking. Our connection sizzles when I enter the room. When our eyes meet, I know he understands me in a way nobody else ever has.

I’m supposed to follow my editor’s orders—I have secrets, too—but everything about Patient 34 is suspicious. How can I not investigate?

Review: The Last Thing He Needs (The Last Thing He Needs #1) by J.H. Knight

*****5 Stars*****

I'm still in the early stages of delving into the M/M genre, I'm so glad this was one of the first of this genre I read. It's such a good book to introduce you, it's not overly smutty but still hot, it's more about the characters and their relationship.
Our main character in this book is Tommy O'Shea, he's the eldest of eight siblings, his father and step-mother are total dead beats, addicts who are hardly ever around leaving it to Tommy to hold down the fort. He's very mature for his age being forced into the position of father to his younger siblings. He's also fiercely independent, he and his family don't have much but they don't like handouts. This books is written solely in Tommy's point of view so we get a good connection with his character.
The second main character is Bobby MacAllister, he was a couple of years above Tommy at school and is now a cop. Often called to the O'Shea house when Tommy's wayward parents are causing havoc, he's no stranger to Tommy's troubles. Even though this book isn't a dual POV we still get to know Bobby really well. In fact sometimes I think as the reader you understand him and his motives better than Tommy himself does.
I loved Tommy, even though he's so stubborn. But for me, Bobby stole the show. He was such a perfect balance to Tommy. He's so selfless and understanding, and patient!! God is he patient! I absolutely fell in love with the O'Shea family, those kids were brilliant, it's one of those families that I wish I knew! They don't have much but their hearts are huge.
I'm hoping this author has plans for more with this series, I would love Colleen to get her own book. Just like Tommy she was forced to grow up too quickly, mothering her younger siblings. I'd love to see her getting some independence and spreading her wings.

Review: Touching Down by Nicole Williams

****4 Stars****

Both Grant Turner and Ryan Hale saved each other in their turbulent childhoods living in the Clink. Then at 17 years old Ryan got up and left with not a single word to anyone not even Grant the love of her life. Fast forward 7 years and she's back to say goodbye to the one woman who cared for not just her but all the deprived kids struggling in the Clinks neighbourhood. Ryan had huge secrets that she had to spill to Grant who is now a huge superstar football player, but he's still angry with her, so when he finally talks and she reveals things it only shows the love he had for her has anything but diminished from him. There's another secret though and Grant us determined he won't lose her this time so does everything in his power to be the hero again. Can they survive long enough to lead the dream life they never got as kids?
Second chance love stories get me cheerleading for a couple every single time. It's like the inner child is squealing inside me just for the awwwwww how sweet factor. This one was no different. I championed Grant and Ryan the whole way through. There was a lot of sad moments though that tugged at my stone cold heartstrings leaving me thinking my heart does infact work in sympathy with others, but then at the same time I was angry with Ryan for waiting 7 years to spill a secret and felt that her reasons for coming back wasn't out of choice and more for help, so I leaned towards championing Grant to make her suffer a bit. This is where it dropped a star for me, even though reasons were explained it still came down to people having that choice. However overall this was another fantastic read from Nicole Williams. I definitely need a Grant in my life that's for sure.

The whole world might be in love with him. But all he’s ever loved is her.

Grant Turner’s name is synonymous with football. The fans and media can’t get enough of the player known as The Invincible Man, a nickname he earned while growing up in one of the toughest neighborhoods in the country and the nickname he’s kept by being one of the best players in professional football today. No one can take him down. He’s unstoppable.

But even a suit of armor has its weak point, and Grant’s has always been Ryan Hale.

They were a couple of kids when they fell in love, and just when it looked like the happy ending neither expected was within reach, Ryan disappeared. No explanations. No good-byes.

Grant coped by throwing himself into the game for seven years, and he’s finally moved on. Or so he thinks.

When she walks back into his life, all of those feelings come crashing back, despite the warnings in his head that tell him she’ll leave him again. Grant can withstand the league’s toughest defensive line, but he’s always been weak where she’s concerned.

No man can take Grant Turner down.

But one woman certainly can.

One woman will.

Review: Bang Gang by Jade West

*****5 Stars*****

Anytime I pick up a Jade West book I know I'm in for some especially dirty fun. The brilliance of West is that in addition to all of the naughty sex there is always an interesting plot and characters we end up caring for. In Bang Gang the characters stealing our heart are Jodi and Darren.
Jodi is a single mother to two sweet and adorable little girls. She has sacrificed her happiness and much of her life to be a good other. She lives in a small town and as such, very few things remain secret. When she begins hearing rumors about her ex and her daughters' father, Darren she isn't sure how to feel. Apparently in addition to his successful mechanic business, he is selling sexual fantasies on the side. The kind of fantasies that involve one woman and a group of five sexy mechanics. For the right price, you can have the gang bang of your dreams. Jodi is mortified when she first hears and then embarrassed and upset. The more she thinks about what her ex is selling though, the more a desire starts taking shape. Maybe she should cut loose for once and spend some of her hard earned money living out a sexy fantasy herself.
Darren is definitely the kind of man fantasies are made of. In addition to his overt sexuality, he is a true family man at heart. The way he is with his daughters will definitely melt your heart. I did wonder though why he would engage in the activities he was taking part in, in such a small town. Surely at least part of him must have known it would get back to his ex and one day his daughters. With the way he cared about them, I can't imagine he would ever do anything to harm them. Though, I'm not sure he and Jodi would have ever gotten back together if not for his side business so perhaps it was the product of a sexy evil genius.
This book is very dirty, and if you have read any previous Jade West book, that should come as no surprise to you. It also really was heartwarming. The latter half of the book got quite emotional and I loved watching Jodi loosen up and find the woman she has been pushing aside for her daughters. I also loved Darren reclaiming his woman and daughters and seeing a family rediscover each other. Bang Gang was another entertaining, naughty and ultimately fulfilling read from Jade West that I enjoyed tremendously.

It’s one thing knowing your ex-boyfriend is a bit of a player, but it’s another thing altogether to find out he’s pimping himself out to anyone who’ll pay good money for it.

Not just himself, either. That would be far too regular for Darren Trent.

Darren Trent – my teenage sweetheart and father to my two young girls – is not just whoring himself out. Oh no. Darren Trent pimps himself out alongside four of his mechanic friends – all of them at the same time.

Five hot, sweaty mechanics at your service.

They call themselves the Bang Gang… you can imagine.

In a village our size I should keep my head down and hope the scandal blows over before the girls or my poor old Nanna catch wind of it.

Only it’s not blowing over. Far from it. It seems every woman in the village wants themselves a five-mechanic sandwich.

They make no qualms about it, either. Just rock on up to my café counter and ask how they can book themselves in for a Bang Gang special. Like I would know.

I definitely wouldn’t know. I hardly even know Darren Trent anymore. We split up a lifetime ago.

I definitely don’t think about him late at night. Don’t think about five mechanics and me as much as every other woman in this village.

And even if I did, I wouldn’t act on it. I wouldn’t draw the money from my savings account and have a go for myself.

And even if I did that, I definitely, definitely wouldn’t fall for him. Not again. Not after everything we went through. Not after splitting up the first time nearly brought me to my knees.

Not after settling into a decent routine, the girls and me, with no drama, no heartbreak, no crazy passions to rock the calm little boat we’re sailing on.

I mean, who would be stupid enough to risk all that over a hot, sweaty, oily bit of rough like Darren Trent?
