Review: Dragon's Lair by Chantal Fernando

I really enjoyed this; it’s been a while since I read an M/C book as they were all becoming a little the same for me so this is a breath of fresh air. It is as the blurb say a sexy romance so it doesn’t have too much of the really dark side of other M/C reads.

We first meet Faye and Dex in a really cute prologue set in childhood where we learn of her crush as a ten year old on the older boy next door with a bit of rebel running through him. As the story begins we fast forward to find 23 year old Faye an ace law student with her life mapped out discovering her current boyfriend in a compromising situation with her friend. As a kick back Faye gets her glad rags on and heads to the local bar intent on getting the scene out of her head without much luck until she bumps into Dex the somewhat estranged brother of her ex and now a really hot biker that she hasn’t seen for years but definitely still has a crush on. And so Faye gets her revenge on her ex and fulfils her fantasy of Dex in a one night stand.
A few months down the line Faye’s life is falling apart round her and so she heads out of town that is until Dex tracks her down and brings her back to his compound. This is where we really get to see Faye’s character she is funny and witty, her inquisitive mind coupled with a mouth that runs off before she can think Faye finds herself putting her foot in it with the other bikers but under Dex’s protection they soon become to appreciate her. Faye has to again question what is to become of the life she had planned and if a life with Dex is something she wants and the M/C lifestyle throws a few obstacles in along the way that Faye has to face up to.
I loved Faye and she really come into her own later into this story when the life she is building with Dex takes a turn that neither of them see coming but Faye steps up and proves herself to be Old Lady material. Dex is just a big teddy bear of a biker and I loved him too.
A great start to a new series with some really colourful characters that I look forward to discovering more of as this series develops.
