Before I turned to the first page of this book (mainly because I was too busy ogling the front cover), I thought to myself 'I could do with a fun, hot little read' and low and behold I got exactly what I wanted and more.
The synopsis alone is enough to make you realise there is going to be lots of sex, but what I didn't count on was it giving me the feels quite like it did during the last half of the book. Now I've not read many cop romances, but out of the few that I have, I can say with certainty that this was hands down my favourite.
Livia is a pretty great heroine. She's a librarian, which gives her that innocence but on the other hand she's desperate for a baby and fancies 'Hot Cop' Chase like crazy so these things pretty much turn her into a sex kitten. Add in a lot of vulnerability and BAM! Instantly pulls at my heart strings.
I have to admit my first thoughts of Chase was that this guy was probably going to be more brawn than brain, however he was what really surprised me. Not only was he insanely sexy, but this was intensified by the fact that he was actually so damn considerate and not at all like the playboy I thought he would be. Then add in his dirty, filthy mouth and voila! Perfect fictional Hero.
I absolutely devoured this book and even though I love Laurelin's books and Sierra's, Priest was just so good and unique, individually I also feel together they have produced something pretty damn impressive. Yes it's very light hearted for the most part, especially when you compare it to their individual books, but for me there is still a level of maturity to the writing, which makes it so much more.
