Review: Savage Things (Chaos & Ruin #2) by Callie Hart

I love it when I'm right. I feel like Columbo at the fact that in my review of Violent Things, I said there was definitely a build up to something much much bigger and I am so happy to say I was right, because Savage Things was like a speeding freight train from start to finish.

I loved book one, but this, for me was in a totally different league and dare I say almost as good if not just as good as the Blood & Roses series.

Zeth was back to his best and was definitely the man we all know and love. Always like a ticking time bomb waiting to explode and that for me makes him so damn irresistible.

Sloane was amazing throughout. She was hard as nails with a softer side, that we don't often get to see.

Mason is a very complex character and it will be interesting to see how things pan out for him, but he certainly is one of the many reasons I am anticipating what is going to happen with this series.

I'm probably not the only one when I say this, but I hate Denise Lowell. If she fell under a bus I really wouldn't be upset. However she isn't the only antagonist in this book. In fact there's so much going on, but despite that it's written in such a way that everything is clear and I literally was glued to the pages from start to finish.

What I love about this series is the familiarity of some characters from some of Callie's former series and also the introduction of some new characters as well.

All in all I simply loved this book. I need the next book like, yesterday!!!

Review: ...Or Something by Debra Kayn

I absolutely loved Battery. Strong, determined and loyal, he knows that he's crossing a line but when it comes to protection, he's willing to risk it all.

Bree has grown up knowing that she needs to look after herself. She has no one and she's hardened herself to cope with being alone. Until an encounter changes everything for her.

Although I really enjoyed this book, what I missed was that cohesive feeling that normally comes with a MC book. There wasn't very much information on the other MC brothers and it lacked that feeling of togetherness, family.

There are quite a few twists and turns in this book but it flows well and is easy to follow.
Overall I really enjoyed this book and I'm sure you will too.

Review: Ravage (Scarred Souls #3) by Tillie Cole

I don't think Tillie Cole has ever written a bad book and this one didn't disappoint either!

194 is another victim to the corrupt underground mafia ring. Drugged by a metal collar to contain his memories and to make him a killing machine has turned him into a complete monster. Deep in his mind though he has one mission and that's to save his sister aka 152 from the sex slave life she has endured after they were both kidnapped as children. However his next mission from his evil mistress will change his life forever. 194 is sent to kill 221 aka Zaal Kostava, an old prisoner of his mistress whom escaped and killed her lover, but whilst scoping out Zaal he comes across a female in the shadows who is also scoping out Zaal's house. 194 kidnaps her and begins her torturing to find out who she is and why she was at Zaal's house, but what he doesn't expect is kindness and love as well as her true identity. Can beauty kill the darkness of the beast?

I didn't want to rehash to much of the story in fear of spoilers as there is a lot of hidden identity that comes to light where we can connect characters from the first 2 books to this one. This is another fantastic read from Tillie where it draws you in and keeps you yearning for more. We get to see all the characters from the previous 2 books Raze & Reap although if you haven't read those you would be mad not to do so first in my opinion. I found some of the Russian dialect heavy and hard to follow at the beginning so had to go back and reference from the previous books but it didn't spoil or take away my enjoyment of the book. I found 194's story to be seriously heartbreaking at times and so I had a sniff or 2 along the way. So all in all another great read from this author and another book to recommend.

Review: His Royal Favorite (His Royal Secret #2) by Lilah Pace

After reading His Royal Secret I could not wait to read the sequel and find out what was to become of James and Ben and of their once secret, but now public forbidden relationship. I had high hopes and Pace did not disappoint, ramping up the angst and really focusing on the pitfalls both characters faced now that they were no longer hiding from the world. I'll note here that this needs to be read after His Royal Secret and is not a stand alone.

When we met James in book one he was the closeted Prince of Whales who had an explosive encounter with Ben, a reporter. When they are reunited later, they resume their sizzling hot affair. It is risky, but neither can stay away. At the end we are left with a HFN (happy for now ending). James is ready to gamble everything on love, come out of the closet and make his relationship with Ben known. Ben cares so much for him he's willing to go along with James.

As His Royal Favorite begins, James can finally have a sense of freedom, no longer living a lie. He warned Ben that things would be difficult, but I'm not sure Ben really took him at his word. In fact, Ben seemed to have the hardest road in this book as he became gossip magazine fodder and was no longer had a 'private' life. As James and Ben dealt with blood thirsty paparazzo, the court of public opinion and political intrigue and family in-fighting, I couldn't help but root for these two unlikely lover. I wanted them to overcome all the awfulness they had to deal with in the worst way.

Lilah Pace definitely has a talent for capturing a reader's interest. She had me invested in James and Ben's story right away and kept me captivated until the very last page of book two. This was a interesting and different forbidden love story filled with well fleshed out characters and a compelling storyline. I ate the words up like catnip and look forward to future works from this very talented author.

Review: Sugar Rush (Sugar Bowl #2) by Sawyer Bennett

Sugar Rush is the second book in the amazing suspenseful Sugar Bowl series so you really need to read book 1 Sugar Daddy first otherwise you won't really understand what is happening very well. After the suspenseful cliffhanger at the end of book 1 I could not wait to get my hands on this one! This second installment starts right where book 1 left us which is awesome because it refreshed my memory on where we were at in the story. Sawyer Bennett has given us another amazing story filled with vengeance, suspense, love, and of course another cliffhanger ending to keep us wanting more!

The book starts off with Beck throwing Sela out of his apartment for snooping in his office and she finally confesses to him that JT raped her ten years ago and he calls her a liar. But after much consideration and thought, he comes to the realization that she must be telling him the truth and they hatch a plan to exact their revenge on JT. Beck has to summon every little bit of strength and discipline that he has to maintain JT's trust and their friendship while they figure out a way to get JT out of their lives for good. Beck will do anything to protect Sela and prove his loyalty to the woman he just might be falling for, but how far is he willing to go? Would he kill for her? You will just have to read and find out!

Sugar Rush is one of those books that keeps you sitting on the edge of your seat in suspense just waiting to see what will happen. It is a great quick suspenseful read that I highly recommend one clicking! I can't wait to read the conclusion to Sela and Beck's story and see just what happens to JT in Sugar Free.
