Review: Stroked Hard (Stroked #3) by Meghan Quinn

I have loved this series and I didn’t think the previous book could be beaten but I must admit Stroked Hard is my favourite of the three in the series. If you haven’t read the first two books, then I recommend you do so to fully enjoy the characters in this series. 

After getting a glimpse of Hollis in the first book my interest in him was piqued and I was so happy to see this was his book, from the offset his quirky humour, quick wit and one liners had me chuckling. Though there is more to Hollis and he really is romance book material, he isn’t a love and leave ‘em guy, he wants the full shebang when it comes to relationships and his dirty mouth is a big plus for me. I am a little in love with Hollis I do admit. 

Melony is a great character; she is the opposite of Hollis when it comes to relationships as she has major daddy/abandonment issues but even though she still holds her own when it comes to Hollis and gives him as good as she gets. I must admit though her issues were very real I did want to shake her somewhat towards the middle of the book but that may be because Hollis had won me over already. 

Hollis and Melony’s story will have you laughing out loud at the banter between these characters. There is some angst but overall it’s an enjoyable humorous read that we expect of this author.

This was a fantastic addition to this series that I’m sad to see end but this rounds off the series perfectly. I can’t wait to see what Meghan has lined up for us next.

Review: I See You by Molly McAdams

Molly McAdams is the queen of all things angst and love triangles! There has not been a single book by her that I didn't love and that didn't involve angst for days or a complicated love triangle. If I want either of those things, I immediately see if Molly has anything new or check out any of her books that I haven't had the pleasure of reading. This book was nothing short of perfection and there was not a single thing I didn't like about this book. The author sure knows how to hook you from the start and make it to where you don't want to put the book down although the angst got to be too much at times so I was forced to put the book down or go insane. Of course knowing Molly, I was already prepared to be destroyed and had tissues on hand.

I See You goes back and forth between the past and the present but don't worry because you'll catch on soon enough. Aurora/Rorie hooks up at a college party with the hot, brooding, mysterious guy in the corner. The bad boy that tells her he can only give her one night and that's usually not the kind of girl she is but she wants to be different for one night. Rorie meets Declan the next weekend when she goes back to search for her mystery man. Declan is the nice guy, the charmer who stole her heart from the moment they met but Jentry had touched her soul. She thought she'd never see him again but when he pops back up into her life in the most devastating, angsty way, she is forced to keep that night hidden from everyone around. She is caught in the middle of a battle where no matter what someone will end up hurt. She is inevitably forced to choose between the safe and reliable relationship she has with Declan or Jentry, the guy who her soul calls for and who she can't forget about no matter how hard she tries.

Molly has a knack for making you fall in love with the other guy. I was rooting for Jentry the whole time and I loved everything about him!! (Sorry Declan) He was soft and hard and sweet and sexy and protective. I loved it when he stood up to his mother on Aurora's behalf. Don't even get me talking about his mother Linda. She was nothing short of a witch. I kind of understood her actions though, especially at the end when she sort of redeems herself, but I cried for what she put Aurora through. And Aurora was a strong female lead and I applaud her for everything she had to go through. I know I wouldn't have been as strong as her under the circumstances and I know this is fiction but still.

This book was an emotional roller coaster of epic proportions and will give you one heck of a book hangover but it is well worth it! I loved Aurora, Declan, and Jentry and was super happy and pleased with how it ended! I can't wait to see what else Molly has in store for us next!

Review: Jed Had to Die by Tara Sivec

I'm a shameless Tara Sivec fan. Though she writes all types of books, I personally think she is one of the best romantic comedy authors out there. With her newest story Jed Had to Die, we get that fabulous humor I love so much along with a murder mystery that had me reading long past my bedtime.

Payton is pretty sure leaving her small town in her rear view mirror twelves years earlier is one of the best decisions she every made and has no plans of ever returning. Then she gets a late night phone call that has her packing her bags and leaving Chicago for her home town. When she arrives the town is abuzz over the murder. It's the most exciting thing to happen to Bald Knob since, well, since ever. Everyone seems to be a suspect and there is certainly more than enough fingers pointing in every direction.

The only thing more exciting than the murder mystery is the sexy Sheriff. Payton cannot believe that Leo, the scrawny boy who used to follow her around like a lost puppy is now Sheriff. Even more shocking is how sexy and hot he has become. Leo is determined to get to the bottom of the case and Payton is determined to keep him from discovering her secrets. Who cares if she and half the town are suspects, everyone knows he had it coming. So what if she's making out with the town's sexy Sheriff, it's purely to keep him too distracted to find out things he shouldn't. Leo is certainly well past his former infatuation with Payton and nothing would every come from anything they may be playing at now. Right?

This book was SO much fun! I laughed until I cried. Sivec just knows how to write romantic comedy like no-one's business. Add in the intriguing mystery and the wonderfully fulfilling romance between Payton and Leo and I literally found it impossible to put this book down. This is another winner from Tara Sivec and I predict it making many a favorite books of 2016 list.

Review: Looking Inside by Beth Kery

I'm a long time Beth Kery fan, so always get excited when she releases a new book. Looking Inside is her newest and a standalone. Eleanor is shy and introverted. She works at a museum and loves books, but also has a very addictive newer hobby. She has become a voyeur over the past year. Not that many people would blame her. Her apartment looks right into the high rise of Trey, a millionaire who has his pick of sexual partners. As Eleanor watches him she feels like the things he does to various women he is doing to her.

In a very uncharacteristic move, Eleanor takes a risk and soon Trey is intrigued by the mystery brunette he wants to get to know better. Normally he is the type of man who only thinks about a woman for as long as she is in his bedroom, but Eleanor is unique and different from the women he goes for. As they begin to spend time together, they engage in a steamy relationship. Before either knows it, feelings begin to develop and soon they are burning up more than just sheets.

Kery does a wonderful job of giving us an intelligently written steamy story with emotional impact and BDSM elements. I really liked both characters and there was just enough back story and personal intrigue to keep the story interesting. A highly recommended read to anyone looking for a well written erotic romance with an interesting premise.

Review: All The Ways You Saved Me (Love Unplugged #1) by Jamie Howard

I have read and loved all three books by this author and I swear each one is better than the last! This is one of those emotionally beautiful stories that just steals your heart. It was captivating from the first word to the very last and leaves you wanting more. It completely consumed me and I did not want to put this book down for anything, not even to eat or sleep. Howard has created some amazing complex characters with real problems and baggage and all you want is for these two completely different characters to overcome and heal from their problems so they can finally be together.

Bianca Easton has just graduated law school and is preparing to follow her strict parents wishes to join the prestigious law firm that her father used to work at, when her one and only best friend dies in a tragic accident. Heartbroken Bianca disobeys her parents wishes and stays in New York to finish off her best friend's bucket list. It's while she is checking off the very first item on the list that she meets Ian Mathis. He is the tatted up gorgeous mystery man, a complication that Bianca really doesn't need right now but wants more than anything. Her parents definitely wouldn't approve of her fraternizing with such a person and she has always followed their wishes. They have an instant chemistry between them but both try to deny it for as long as they can. He decides to help her with her list and I really think he just needs a friend. With every item they check off the list, Bianca is uncovering a new side of herself that she has never known existed, while simultaneously breaking her own rules of falling for Ian. She only plans to stay in NYC for 6 months and then go home to take the bar and work at the firm so the last thing she needs is to fall for him, especially with all the secrets he keeps from her.

I thought it was different that the dual POV started so late but it seemed to work in letting us know more about Ian's past and why he was the way he was. I absolutely loved Bianca and Ian and thought that they fit perfectly together. They healed one another and I was just rooting for them to get a happily ever after ending. I loved watching Bianca's character come out of her shell and discover who she was without her parents dictating her every move. I also enjoyed Bianca and Ian help each other overcome their personal demons. This book was all about living your life to the fullest because you never know when your time will be up. I can't recommend this book enough!! I absolutely loved everything about this book and cannot wait to see what the author has in store for us next.
