Everyone needs to stop what they’re doing now! If you don’t buy Make You Mine in the next 5 minutes then I don’t know if we can be friends anymore. I almost didn’t survive this book…..it ripped me apart. Alex St. James so smooth and debonair….he’d give James Bond a run for his money! For years he’s been carefully cultivating an image that he doesn’t care, doesn’t care about his family, doesn’t care about his friends, doesn’t have relationships, and doesn’t care about himself. But beneath the surface he cares too much and he’s working tirelessly to protect those he loves. Like most heroes, he’s got some scars….really deep scars. The fact that Alex has been protecting the people he loves the most almost all of his life (yes, even as a child!) makes you want to protect him and cuddle him. But in the author’s infinite wisdom she didn’t give Alex some little ninny of a girl that he needed to shelter and coddle. Nope, the author gave him a Russian badass bodyguard! Katya doesn’t take crap from anyone not even Alex. She’s the epitome of loyalty, dedication, and courage. It was nice to see that for once someone was able to take care of Alex and not the other way around. She quickly becomes a pillar of strength for Alex in a way that I found appealing. But I also liked that Alex was able to show her that life wasn’t all combat and drills that life can be enjoyed and not just endured. Like her other Nine Circles book this once drops you in the action and intrigue almost immediately. There are subplots and conspiracies abounding combined with page scorching chemistry that make this a phenomenal read. Also there are little tidbits of what is to come with the other books in the series, this author is a master of teasing you and leaving you wanting more.
