This is my first book by this author but I will definitely be looking to read more. This is a well written story that is engagingly paced to keep you turning the pages. It is in third POV which took me a while to get into the swing of but once I did I was invested in the story.
Jodi and Rupert’s story is a tale of angst caused by a traumatic event right at the start of the book and what we get is a rollercoaster ride as we visit flashbacks as to how their relationship developed before the event. I found these to be well inserted into the story and loved getting both of their sides due to the third POV rather than just one side.
This is a beautiful story of how love can conquer all eventually. Some parts were heart-breaking to read especially in respect of poor Rupert who my heart went out to. I loved how he stuck by Jodi despite everything. I loved the glimpse we got of the relationship right at the start of the story and was fighting for them to get back to that level all the way through.
I have to admit I did find the story sagged a little in the middle for me hence the four stars but I am certainly glad to have stuck with the story as I really enjoyed the book overall.
