Review: Tycoon by Katy Evans

****4 STARS****

Let me just say I am a massive Katy Evans fan, still am. However this book did leave me somewhat confused.
Some of the conversations were a little difficult to grasp and I often found myself wondering who said what as this wasn't always made clear.

I was very intrigued by the main hero (If you can call him that) Aaric Christos' character. He was definitely someone that you can love to hate. If I'm honest I wasn't sure about his pet name for Bryn. The name 'little bit' or 'bit' just didn't really strike a chord with me.

Bryn, the main heroine in the book, was easy to warm to, however despite her being 30 years old she appeared much younger. There was an immaturity to her that I would have perhaps expected in a character 10 years younger.

Despite the couple of issues I had with the book there was no denying the book was hot where it needed to be and overall I did enjoy it, but I just felt it wasn't quite at the standard I would have expected from a Katy Evans book.

He wasn’t always this rich. This hot. This difficult.
Aaric Christos was a guy who protected me. Wanted me. Maybe even loved me.
That man is gone.
In his place is the most powerful real estate tycoon in the city.
He’s a cold, ruthless, aggressive businessman.
The only one who can save me and my startup from ruin.
It takes every ounce of courage to put my pride aside and ask for his help.
I didn’t expect him to offer it easily.
And he doesn’t.
Instead, he vets me harder than he’s vetted anyone.
Don’t invest in what you don’t know, he says.
He's assessing every piece of me, to the point I've never felt so bare.
I yearn for the boy I once knew, whose touch once craved me.
Putting it all on the line will be worth it, I tell myself.
Until I realize—too late—that some risks are not worth taking.
