*****5 STARS*****
Nora needs money and to escape home after a tragic event. When she stumbles onto a position for a summer Tutor for Holden's younger sister it seems like the perfect solution. She arrives at his isolated cabin with no running water, internet, cell service or electricity. When the summer ends and she is ready to return home, Holden has other plans.
K. Larsen is an evil genius and I love her for it. The Tutor was a complete mind fuck that had me on the edge of my seat from page one. It is told through multiple point of viewers and jumps from present time to the past, as Nora's time in the cabin is slowly revealed. This is the kind of book I would do a disservice to if I shared too much of the plot. The wonder of it is being able to watch (with heartbreak, suspense, confusion and even horror) as the story unfolds. This felt like the old-school dark romances I have always loved so much. It is all about choices and how the choices we make can change our lives forever. This is a perfectly executed tale of Stockholm syndrome that will have you at least a little bit wrecked and disturbed in only the best possible way. This is a must read for fans of dark romance/suspense.
