Being a longtime fan of Jill Shalvis, I'm always excited for her new releases and with Lost and Found Sisters we get the beginning of a new series and her first foray into women's fiction.
Quinn is a chef who is going through the motions of life. It may look like she has it all - a good job, wonderful boyfriend who wants to put a ring on her finger and a loving family. Beneath the surface she is dealing with tremendous grief from the loss of her sister two years earlier. When a lawyer shows up one day with news that will change her life. She leaves everything behind and moves to Wildstone California.
When she arrives in Wildstone, the news that greats her leaves her reeling. How can she deal with learning everything she thought she knew is a lie.
Mick grew up in Wildstone and could not see the small town in his rear view fast enough. He now lives in San Francisco, but has returned home for dad's funeral. When he sees Quinn in the midst of a panic attack on the beach he can't help stepping in. They begin a friendship which turns into more. Both have lives in other places, so surely it will amount to nothing more than a passing fling. Life and love though often has plans of its own.
This book was full of heart and emotion. It has a different feel to it than Shalvis' previous works, but is no less enjoyable. I cannot wait to see where future books in this new series will take us.
