Bear Whisky has had the hots for one of his close friends Crystal Moon for the past 8 months and he thinks it's time to try and sweep her off her feet. Crystal pushes back though and has put up a front of being that sassy mouthed and sexy hot chick. Things aren't as they seem though and Bear has to chip away at her bit by bit. Crystal has something in her past that she is struggling to come to terms with, not to mention a drunk mother and a wayward brother and having the hots for Bear and knowing he wants her brings a whole lot of other problems in her mind. Can Crystal work it out and let Bear have her heart and soul and find the happiness she has always wanted?
I really don't know where to go with this review at all, it was a bit of a hit and miss for me personally but I know others who like a loving romance with a little bit of sadness and a whole lot of soppy moments will totally love this book. I'm not going to deflate the stars on this one because of my personal preference as there is parts of this book I loved like catching up with Truman, Gemma and the kids from Tru Blu and I found Dixie, Bullet and Bones (Bears Siblings) with more of a hard edge to them and it automatically drew me to like them. I just found it was lacking in something and I would just have preferred a bit more drama in the small dramatic parts we did get as I thought it was all a bit to perfect and mushy, but then others love that sort of thing. The 2 main characters were a little to soft round the edges for me also but again if you love soft, sweet and gentle then this is definitely your kind of thing.
However with all that being said I still need more of the side characters stories, Bullet and Jed in particular although I think Dixie with being the only Whisky girl has a good story to tell as well.
