Review: Dear Life by Meghan Quinn

*****5 Stars*****

I love this authors books but Dear Life has shot the top of the list. Meghan has become known for her hilarious RomCom books, though, having read an earlier series of hers, I knew she could do hard hitting emotional too and combine the two in her unique way. However, with Dear Life Meghan has hit it out of the park, this book is a must read for everyone especially those that are treading water below the calm surface.
This is a beautifully written book that deals with four characters that are indirectly connected through a mutual acquaintance but are very much connected by the fact that they are all lost in life. Dear Life is a motivational course that they are all encouraged to attend to cope with the different issues they all face from grief to the desire to fit in. The course brings them together as they embark on a journey of discovery and recovery as they stare life in the face. This book had me crying one moment and laughing the next.
I loved all these characters for their own individuality but Jace really owned a piece of my heart from early in the book. The writing was pure emotion and raw, for those that follow this author on social media you soon realise how and why Jace’s story was so hard hitting. I loved everything about this book and why it isn’t your typical romance fare it is so powerful and unique in its message that it is one that will stay with me for a long time.
I really applaud Meghan for her own letter at the end of the book and for sharing her story with her readers.
