I'm pretty sure Shelly Laurenston knows the way to my heart and it's a sexy yet nerd-tastic Viking with an all encompassing knowledge of philosophy and world history. In her last book, she introduced several different warrior clans sponsored by Norse gods. In The Undoing, we get a closer look at the Protectors, which are essentially Viking librarians who can also kick major ass. We also see the return of the crazy Crow Clan and all their hilarious antics. Jace, the least sociable Crow and hater of all things small talk, is now my favorite heroine in this series. She manages to balance being a kick butt berserker with an astounding knowledge of languages and history. Which makes her a perfect match for Ski Ericksen, smarty nerd sex god! Shelly Laurenston manages to pack a lot of action into the books in this series, they almost read like an action movie. But she also manages to bring huge amounts of humor to the books, this book I especially liked all the nerdy goings-on in the Protector's house. Jace, like all the Crows has a seriously messed up passed so it was really satisfying to watch her and Ski fall in love in the cutest way possible, which is a nice contrast to all the drama, action, and intrigue going on around them. As with all Laurenston books this was exceptionally well written and paced, and the level of world-building and character depth makes me look forward to the other books in the series.
