This is the second Jaded Regret book and although it can be read as a stand alone, I highly recommend that you read the first book, Sentenced, first as you don't want to miss out on Johnny and Bex's story.
Anyway this is Beau and April's story and it was absolutely fantastic! Right from the Prologue, reading about the start in life that Beau had - I was in tears. My heart broke for that little boy. Now he's all grown up and still terrorised by memories of his past, the only thing that seems to help him is playing drums with his rock band, Jaded Regret.
April is a social worker who works with foster children and asked Jaded Regret to perform at a fund raiser for the new children's hospital that her dad was building. She wanted to raise awareness about the number of children in foster care, and knowing about Bex's past and the involvement she has had with foster kids herself, she hoped that they would help.
This was such an amazing, emotional read, I honestly didn't want it to end. I really hope there is more to this series. I would love to read Natalie's story, and Tanner's too!
