We met Jake in Redemption Lane, the first book in this series and I was looking forward to reading about Lane's twin brother.
Jake first meets Alyson when he's arrested on Christmas Eve and thrown in jail, she's the public defender and when they meet he's instantly attracted to her. considering how they met though, surely they wouldn't work?
I did like this book, but for some reason I didn't love it as much as Redemption Lane. I don't think I really connected with the characters as much and it took me a while to get into the story. Once I got to about half way trough, I feel that the story really took off and I started to enjoy it much more.
