Review: Crimson Desert (Bittersweet Duet #2) by Melissa Jane

*****5 Stars*****

This is the continuation of Laila and Aiden's story and picks up right off where book 1, Little Doll ended. And thank God for that since it ended on a bit of a cliffy! So that WTF moment at the end of book 1 is explained and let me tell you, if you've read book 1 not everything is as it seems!
In this book Laila and Aiden have made it across the border but they are by no means safe. Juan is like a dog with a bone and he just won't let Laila go. He has a weird obsession with her and considers her as his possession.
There's not much I can say without giving away spoilers but you can't read book 1 without wanting to read book 2. And if you haven't read book 1 then do so! I've really enjoyed this series so far, they are dark and exciting reads and I'm looking forward to finding out what Danny's story is in book 3, Laughing Eyes.

Crimson Desert is Book Two in The Bittersweet Duet. Little Doll (Book One) is essential to the development of the series.

Now back across the border, LAILA realizes that all had not been as it seemed at the Florez mansion. Learning to trust the man she wanted dead was going to take time. Time was not on her side.

For AIDEN, the damage was done. There was no going back. Except for one thing… revenge.

Giving up was never an option for JUAN. Not even now when everything had changed. He lived and breathed the thrill of the chase and this time the end prize was too great to lose.

This is a dark story where the taste for love and revenge clash in the most unforgiving ways.
