Review: The Consequence of Loving Colton (Consequence #1) by Rachel Van Dyken

*****5 Stars*****

What can I say? This isn’t your usual I fell in love with my brother’s best friend book. This is the best laugh out loud romance story I have read in a long, long time. Milo has been in love with Colton for as long as she can remember, she comes home for the weekend her brother’s wedding and everything that could go wrong does go wrong. Between Jail time, black eyes, and mad relatives this book has it all. How do 2 people get from wanting each other to actually getting each other without lies, upset or mishap??? Some things in life aren't that simple.
I don’t want to go over the story because quite frankly the blurb does that and anything more would give too much away. Colton and Milo are like a pair of crazy cats they would be such a perfect match. The calamity and hilarity they cause is mayhem, not just to themselves but to the people round about them as well, it’s truly first class and won’t disappoint.
My Hat goes off to Rachel Van Dyken, the writing is perfect and all the side characters had their moments of hilarity also and were well involved paving the way for the next in the series. I can’t wait for the next in the series although I am crossing everything I can for something on Reid as he definitely has a heck of a story to tell. I don’t know what more I can say except you got to buy this book when it’s live on the 21st April. I promise you will love it as much as I did.

My name is Milo Caro and I have a confession to make.
I’ve been in love with Colton Mathews since I was five. He should have known that sharing a cookie with a sugar obsessed little monster would do the trick–it sealed his fate. So really, the fact that he’s sporting a black eye, a limp, almost got ran over by a car, and was nearly responsible for another person’s death? Right. HIs fault. Not mine.
I made a pact with myself–this weekend would be different. I’d come home for my brothers wedding, smile, and Colton would naturally melt into my arms, we’d get married have five kids, live in a house by the river, and get a dog named scratch (clearly I’ve thought this through).
What really happened? I punched my brother in the face, Colton kissed me and apologized, I lied about having a boyfriend, oh and everyone wants to meet the mystery man.
They say laughter always comes before insanity–ha, ha. All I wanted was my brother’s best friend…instead I’m sitting in prison.
Let this be a lesson to you all…life rarely happens the way you want it to.
Damn cookie.
